TULIPS AND WINDMILLS VIKING RIVER CRUISE - SERIES #2

"If my city is a celebrity it'd be Goldie Hawn because its pretty, clever, congenial, funny, sexy and wealthy without taking on airs." - Emilio Brizzi ( Professional Photographer)
AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND - MARCH 27, 2014

"GEODEMORGEN!" (Good Morning In Dutch).
Nowadays wooden clogs are largely sold in the Netherlands as tourist souvenirs, but have you ever wondered why someone would intentionally want to walk around in shoes that could give you a splinter?

The answer goes back to the country’s name, Neterlands roughly translates into “low lands,” which describes most of the terrain in the area. Because the country is filled with so many low lands, the ground was largely boggy and wet and leather shoes would become easily ruined and could not adequately protect the wearer’s feet from becoming damp. Wooden shoes on the other, were sturdy, could survive the muck and were better at keeping feet dry.

TOUR 2: Second Day Morning Tour Started With A Canal Boat Cruise. Thanks Viking, Not A Walking Tour. We Boarded A Tour Bus And We Were Dropped Off The Pier. Here We Transferred To A Canal Boat. It Was A Cold Morning But Mid-Morning The Sun Shined Again. Good The Boat Was Enclosed W/ Glass. A Canal Cruise Is The Most Popular Tourist Attraction In the Country.
I Wore The Beautiful Blue Scarf Handknitted By My Cousin Cely. Thanks Cely! I Matched It W/ White Sweater And Denim Jacket Plus A Wool Blue Hat From Nordstrom Rack. Did It Look Like A Page From A Travel Magazine?

The Above Quote From An Authentic Amsterdammer Caught My Attention. He Compared Amsterdam To  Goldie Hawn. We Connected Easily As We Both Admired Goldie Hawn. She's A Famous American Movie Star. But Don't Think,  That I Was Aspiring To Be Like Goldie. No Way! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Emilio Brizzi Grew Up In Amsterdam. As A Pro-Photographer He Said Amsterdam ....... Is Pretty. Yes, On A Clear Day, Like Today, We Admired This Pretty Canal Bridge With Hanging Plants And Two Bikes Chained To It. Amsterdam Canals Were Like Streets. I Guessed There Were 165 Of Them Which Ever Street You Walk Through, There's A Canal Nearby.

Amsterdam....Is Very Clever. We Passed Under Many Connecting Bridges. Amazingly, The Connecting Bridges Were Created By Joining As Many 90 Small Islands And  Linking Together By 1,500 Bridges, All Within The City Limits.  The Canals Ended In Squares On The Outskirts Of The City, Which Were Often Used As Parking Spaces Because, For Years, Vehicles Were Not Permitted In The City. Canals Are Sealed From The North Sea Via Locks. The Existence Of These Amazing Canals Testified To The Ingenuity And Fortitude  Of The Dutch People.

Amsterdam Is A City Of Cleverly And Creatively Designed Bridges. Here's The Famous Seven Bridges (Reguliersgracht). Special Bridges, Where Arch Brick Bridges Could Be Seen In Relatively Close Proximity.

Amsterdam Is Congenial - Meaning Friendly, Hospitable & Amiable. First Impression Of The Dutch - Very Friendly And Smiley. Many Dutch Greeted W/ Smiles Everywhere. These Houseboats Along The Canals Is A Picture Of Friendliness. The Canals Are Open To Everyone - Neighbors, Foreigners And Tourists Cruising And Walking By.
