SCENES FROM SOUTH AMERICA -SERIES #18 (PART 2)

"We don't stop playing because we grow older; we grow older because we stop playing." - Pieology
PUNTARENAS, COSTA RICA -MARCH 8, 2013
Last week-end, my hubby and I had the chance to try the new pizza place name Pieology.  Their pizzas are one of a kind where you choose your toppings and they prepared it in front of you for $7.99. It was there that I saw the above quote about growing old. Yes, for me old age is the reward for a life well-lived, a privilege earned, an accomplishment worth celebrating and a time for more playing & traveling.  Longevity, w/ all its aches and pain is a blessing.

It's been over a year since our South America Cruise in 2013. And yet the playful and beautiful memories are still as fresh as the beginning of summer 2014. Travel memories stay long, unlike shopping experiences which are only momentary.

Part 2 of our Puntarenas tour was the most playful of all. During our "Jungle Crocodile Safari,"  we encountered lots of friendly creatures which is not always possible unless you go to big city zoos.
At A Local Marina, We Boarded A Covered Motor Boat For A Thrilling Jungle Cruise. Unlike A Disneyland Jungle Cruise Attraction, This One Was Truly Awesome, Amazing And With Many Realistic Species & Animals. Also  Covered  A Vast Portion Of The Costa Rican River.

Approaching The Amazing Tropical Mangrove That Marches On River Mouths.

Mangroves Are Tropical Trees Growing In A Swampy Ground Along River Banks, W/ Branches That Spread And Send Down Roots, Thus Forming More Trunks And Causing A Thick Growth Over A Large Area. A Very Stunning Sight Sculpted By Mother Nature.

Mangroves Are Naturally Sculpted In Many Different Designs And Styles. Very Fascinating!

After A Journey Through The Mangroves, Next Came The Scary Encounter With An Alligator.  My Heart Started Pumping  At High Speed. BOG! BOG! BOG!

These shores are home to a large crocodile colony, some of them are three meters long and may be seen resting on the banks. The Comical And Brave Boat Driver  Was Petting The Alligator.

Very Entertaining Gesture From The Boat Driver As He Teased The Alligator W/ Meat.

Finally, The Alligator Opened His Big Mouth And Devoured The Meat. The Driver Was Not Harmed. He Got Loud Applause From the Passengers. Hurray!

The Sight of Those Clustered Fresh Young Coconuts Made Me Thirsty On a Warm Day.

Buenos Tardes! Half Day Is Over. There Was Time Left For Shopping At The Souvenir  Shop. A Nice Diversion After A Heart Pumping Adventure. Here's A Colorful Ox Car Loaded W/ Famous Costa Rican Coffee.

Colorful  Hand-Painted Chairs W/ Intricate Designs.

Costa Rican Multi-Colored Wall Art For Sale

I Don't have the Appetite Of An Alligator But This Beautiful Basket Of Mangoes Made Me Hungry. Our Tour Guide Dropped  Us Off  At the Port. Rhod & I  Had A  Late Delicious  Buffet Lunch At The Lido. After A Long Day Of Touring, We Were Exhausted And Hungry. Spent The Rest Of The Day Relaxing In The Jacuzzi And Napping.

Watching The Magnificent Sunset From Our Stateroom Was a Wonderful Way To End Our Charming Day In Costa Rica. Good Night! BUENAS NOCHES!
