DECODING DRAPES

"A man's home is his CASTLE 'til the Queen arrives." Anoynmous

Home is where my story begins....
Last February my husband and I downsized to a two-bedroom condo. It was a life challenging adventure. We have been in our present condo for 8 months. Now happily settled w/ so many do-it-yourself home improvements accomplished.  We didn't hire pros because we are pros ourselves. My husband is an electronic engineer. I am an artists. Good combination of talents. For me, top home project was doing the drapes. Although the condo came w/ strudy and good-looking wooden blinds, I think not enough. Drapes at home are major asset for me. Drapes makes a home more cozier.  More pricier. More lovelier. More quieter. More sexier.

I am not a pro drapery maker but I could follow simple sewing projects. Making drapes a simple project? You think I am kidding huh? After a decade of not making drapes I was rusty. It was like after a divorce. Confusion! Delusion! Desperation! But w/ more talent & time than cash, guts compelled me to do it. First I created my drapery design. Measured lots of windows, about eleven.   Drafted a pattern. Cut the fabrics. Started sewing the first panel  which took me a day due to wrong measurement. The rest of the panels were a piece of cake.
Now LOOK what I created! Presenting you my handmade & homemade drapes w/ pride.

Our living room w/ open windows. The homemade drape is bi-color (A combo of black on top w/ reddish fabric below. Red long drapes on sides). Noticed the views w/ trees outside.

Closed windows but the same setting. -"Be it ever so humble there's no place like home."

View of the living room w/ drapes on the side- "Home is where your heart is.
Drapes on the dining room. -"Home is where your heart is."

Main view of drapes from living room.- "A house is built w/ boards and beams. A home is built w/ love and dreams.

PRAYER FOR OUR NEW HOME:
Bless our home, and make it fit for Thee, Oh God.
Send your Holy Spirit into each nook and cranny.
Let the walls resound with love and laughter.
Let your birds sing on our trees outside.

Bless our kitchen and fill it with the warmth of shared bread.
Bless our living room and fill it with loving communication.
Bless our bedrooms and fill them with restful slumber .
Bless each room and each of us, dear God, and make yourself at home with us.

TRAVEL THOUGHTS:
"A woman travels the world in search of what she needs and returned home to find it."
