I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that
gratitude
is happiness doubled by wonder. ~G.K. Chesterton
Hello! Here in the U.S. Thanksgiving Day is just around the corner. One of my favorite American holidays. I love the simple beauty of family coming together to share food and fellowship.
I want to reflect on the things I am so thankful to God this year:
January: The wonderful & beautiful memories of our family Christmas 2011 cruise to Baja Mexico. Thankful for a united & loving family. Also waking up on Christmas day at sea was a long dream come true."
February: "For our condo in Valencia. Moving at this old age seem madness. But the moving & downsizing experience to smaller space & familiar place was a positive & forward experience."
March: "For good jobs for our adult children despite of high unemployment."
April: "Spectacular spring landscape filled w/ multi-color flowers and budding young leaves."
May: "For the God given creativity & art talent. Hard to believe that I created our home drapes in just 2 weeks. I also did 2 small oil paintings which added to my resume of 100 oil paintings so far.
June: "For long marriage, 41 years. For colorful & bright rainbows, sunrises & sunsets that freely nourish the soul, spirit & heart.Simple mother nature helps to keep the marriage going."
July: "Thankful that our grandteens still like to spend thier summer vacation w/ us."
August:"For the digital age. The internet. Thankful for the endless infos available whatever topics that interest me. E-mails thrilled me. The great speed that connects me to family, friends & classmates w/ just a CLICK away is so amazing."
September: "For reaching my 69th birthday. What a gift from God!"
September: "For reaching my 69th birthday. What a gift from God!"
October: "For a puppy named "Colby." His unconditional love enlivened our empty nest. His wiggling tail & winks are good entertainment.. I taught him to wink. Now winks back at me & Rhod.
November: "For our son Ryan who is now safely back to California. He worked so hard for the Obama For America campaign in Chicago. He was the sr. engineer of the tech team. A job well done. An exciting experience to work for a winner. His team earned the admiration and thankful heart and tears of Pres. Obama."
