Feb. 28, 2013- Thursday - Hola! Welcome to Coquimbo & La Serena, Chile
Its true that traveling enriched us w/ wonderful memories & experiences. No one can take that away from us. The money is gone but the memories live on. Coquimbo lies to the south of a crescent shaped bay w/ narrow opening that leads to the Pacific Ocean. At north end is the town of La Serena.
From our ship, we had a great view of Coquimbo.Unfortunately it was overcast and somewhat cool in the morning. We had a half-day city tour scheduled today. Our female tour guide is bit mature. She said....." I never had the chance to travel outside of Coquimbo & La Serena like many of you." Well, that statement made me realized how lucky we are (my husband) and I to be able to travel to many different countries. We should not take traveling for granted.
The land rises fairly quick from the bay so the houses are terraced up the sides of the hills that ring the bay. Grateful to God for His many blessings of being able to travel to this part of So. America. This gigantic cross is a good reminder that this is God's world that he created.
